San Francisco Guide to Mental Health Services

  • If you are in need of mental health services and you live in San Francisco, you can call: 415-255-3737, or 888-246-3333, at any time of the day or night. You should be able to see a counselor within 48 hours.


  • If you or a loved one are in crisis, you can call the Mobile Crisis Treatment Team. They can talk to you and visit you in your home. They are available Monday through Friday from 11 am -11 pm, or weekends, 12 noon - 7 pm. Their number is: 415-355-8300.


  • There is also the Westside Crisis drop-in located at 888 Turk Street. It is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am - 5 pm.

A support group for the people diagnosed with depression and bi-polar disorders, as well as other mental and emotional symptoms and disabilities. Community Health Equity Economic Rights (CHEER)
A work group which strategize actions and formulates proposals of benefit to the homeless mentally ill population and mental health consumers, in general. Supportive Housing Network (SHN)

The Healing Circle for the Soul Support Group
Our Purpose: The purpose of them Healing Circle for support is to promote sharing, healing, education and action for survivors of homicide and victims of violence. The primary purpose of the Healing Circle is to address the needs of homicide survivors. The secondary purpose is to address other types of violence such as elder abuse, child abuse, robbery, incarceration, domestic violence, etc.

Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA)
Is an independent, nonprofessional, twelve step, self-help fellowship organization for people with a dual diagnosis. Our goal is to help men and women who experience a dual illness. We are chemically dependent and we are also affected by an emotional or psychiatric illness. Overeaters Anonymous offers a program of recovery from compulsive overeating using the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of OA.
